Data & AI Executive · CIO/CTO · Entrepreneur · Consulting Advisor
I help consulting firms strengthen pursuits, lead complex engagements and create reusable intellectual capital. I also take on executive roles where organizations need an experienced leader who can connect strategy, technology, people and measurable outcomes.
Open to consulting-firm leadership and collaboration, executive opportunities, strategic advisory and speaking.

Three decades across technology cycles
My career began before cloud platforms, smartphones and generative AI. I have worked through enterprise internet, mobility, digital publishing, e-commerce, cloud, cybersecurity, data platforms, IoT, digital twins, machine learning and enterprise AI.
Built and sold two technology companies: distributed IT services and enterprise mobile middleware. Learned product, sales, delivery, financing, hiring and the discipline of making technology commercially useful.
Taught Technology Entrepreneurship for eight years while advising leaders and founders. Learned to make complex ideas understandable, test assumptions and help others build their own judgment.
Led automotive, media, data and digital platforms—including products serving 1,300+ dealers and more than two million monthly users, and technology leadership across a $2B automotive group with 30+ brands.
Led IT and Digital at Canada Steamship Lines across applications, infrastructure, connectivity, cybersecurity, architecture, data, IoT, optimization and AI in a global, asset-intensive environment.
Created the strategy, governance, portfolio, data-product foundation, responsible-AI guardrails and adoption system required to move a diversified manufacturer from fragmented demand toward responsible enterprise scale.
I can connect a new technology to old operating truths: ownership, architecture, incentives, trust, adoption, economics and the realities of how work actually gets done.
Core proposition
Data and AI transformations fail when strategy, data, technology, governance, adoption and ownership are treated as separate problems. My work connects them.
Define the ambition, target state, priorities, roadmap and executive decisions.
Create governed data products, shared definitions and reusable architecture.
Move beyond demonstrations with ownership, controls and production discipline.
Build the literacy, communities and leadership habits that make capability stick.
Connect investment to outcomes and evidence without overstating what occurred.
What experience changes
Thirty years does not mean having seen every problem. It means recognizing familiar failure modes early enough to change the outcome.
When definitions, accountability and decision rights are unclear, another platform rarely creates trust. I look for the operating issue beneath the technical symptom.
The difficult work sits between business and technology, innovation and risk, model and workflow, sponsor and user. I design those interfaces deliberately.
A target state matters only if teams can build, secure, operate, fund and adopt it. I balance integrity with practical sequencing.
I have bought, built, sold and operated technology. That helps separate product capability from implementation effort, organizational fit and total operating consequence.
Communication alone does not create adoption. People need meaningful ownership, redesigned workflows, capability, incentives and evidence that the new way works.
Forecast, enabled value, validated outcome and realized benefit are different claims. I make the distinction visible before enthusiasm becomes overstatement.
Two ways I contribute
I have commissioned consulting work, advised clients, built companies, led enterprise teams and remained accountable for what happened after the presentation.

Start with the problem
I am most useful where the problem crosses business and technology, strategy and execution, innovation and governance, adoption and evidence.
